Verdict on Sheffield tree felling coming tomorrow

Heeley tree campaigner Dave Dilner was granted a High Court interim injunction in February, preventing Sheffield Council and its contractor Amey felling trees.

After the hearing today, Mr Dilner said the judge would make a decision on whether or not to lift the temporary injunction tomorrow.

The judge will make his final ruling on April 5.

Mr Dilner said: “The judge has heard the claimant case and the defendant’s case today. But due to the complexity, court is sitting at 9.45am tomorrow to finish the oral submissions of the defendant.

“Both parties have asked [the judge] to make a decision on the injunction, which will be tomorrow.” The judge will give his final ruling on April 5.
