Vehicles were set alight in a spate of arson attacks over South Yorkshire over the weekend.

Last night Sheffield firefighters dealt with a Renault Megane set on fire in Ploughwright Way, Gleadless Valley and a Volkswagen Luo torched in Manton Street, Sharrow.

A 4x4 Suzuki was set alight in Scrooby Lane, Parkgate, Rotherham; a Toyota pick-up truck was fired in Eastfield Lane, Hood Green, Barnsley and a Peugoet 308 was torched in Snydale Road, Cudworth, Barnsley.

On Saturday firefighters dealt with a Peugeot 106 set alight in Errington Road, Arbourthorne and a car fired in Pocket Handkerchief Lane, Todwick.
