Vehicles seized during road safety checks in Derbyshire

Four vehicles were seized and one man was arrested for drink driving during two days of road safety checks on the A61 at Shirland and Wingerworth.

The checks were carried out by Derbyshire Police, HM Revenue and Customs and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency.

Some 52 motorists were stopped for not wearing their seatbelts and 29 for using their mobile phones.

Three drivers were stopped for speeding, one for not having an MOT, and two vehicles were found to have insecure loads.

Four vehicles were found to be on the road without insurance and were seized.
