As we move towards the end of the year Utilita Arena Sheffield and Sheffield City Hall look back on a remarkable year in live entertainment, celebrating a lineup of shows that captivated over a million fans in Sheffield.

Across both venues, 2024 was filled with unforgettable performances, record-breaking attendance, and top-tier talent from around the world.With over 100 events in 2024, Utilita Arena Sheffield welcomed ¾ of a million people to the venue solidifying its reputation as a premier entertainment destination. The Arena hosted an array of memorable performances, including DL12 Indoor Bike Trials, Bring Me the Horizon, the filming of fans-favourite BBC1’s Gladiators, and the 26th MOBO Awards, which brought a vibrant celebration of music to Sheffield.

Sell-out performances from artists such as Take That, Bryan Adams, Girls Aloud, and Liam Gallagher thrilled audiences, while Les Misérables, the Arena Spectacular delivered 6 stunning performances, and the Luke Littler effect ensured that Premier League Darts was played in front of over 11,000 fans – it’s biggest audience in the twenty years of dart competition in Sheffield. Additionally, comedians Peter Kay, Jason Manford and Paul Smith kept crowds entertained The Sheffield Steelers added to the Arena's bustling calendar with an exciting season of games as they were crowned Grand Slam champions and brought European Champions Hockey League to the venue.2024 also saw the inaugural Frame of Fame presentation, which honoured Young Voices for their outstanding contributions to the arena.

Sheffield City Hall delivered an impressive variety of performances in 2024, hosting over 300 events and welcoming around 300 000 visitors. The Sheffield International Concert Season brought renowned international orchestras to the venue and celebrated 25 years of Hallé Music Director Sir Mark Elder with his final Sheffield performance, while the MOBO Fringe’s Industry Panel provided an insightful look into the music industry. The Crossed Wires Podcast Festival saw podcast royalty take to the City Hall stage in the UK’s first ever podcast festival. Iconic artists like Paul Weller, Paloma Faith, Jools Holland and Squeeze, wowed audiences with their musical talents, while top comedy was provided by acts such as Paddy McGuiness, Romesh Ranganathan, The Fast Show and Frank Skinner who brought laughter to the Oval Hall.

In addition to music and comedy, Sheffield City Hall featured unique events like the Sheffield Powerlifting Championship, James Martin’s culinary showcase, and Diversity’s high-energy dance performance. Home grown events and institutions such as the Last Laugh Comedy Club and DayFever went from strength to strength.

2024 also marks a significant milestone for both venues, as Sheffield City Hall and Utilita Arena Sheffield prepared for their transition from Sheffield City Trust to ASM Global. This pivotal moment paves the way for an exciting new chapter, promising continued excellence in delivering world-class entertainment to Sheffield audiences.
