Sheffield kids have been using their noodle to get to grips with the finer points of Japanese cuisine.

Wagamama in Meadowhall decided to celebrate a bumper month in the restaurant – which saw them sell over 930 miles of noodles – with a series of free cooking classes for city youngsters recently.

More than 20 young graduates donned a chef’s hat and took to the kitchen of The Oasis restaurant, which has been at the shopping centre since 2010, to perfect some Japanese delicacies.

David Gibbons, general manager at Wagamama, said: “With the new menu, delicious tasty noodles and family-friendly atmosphere, Wagamama is becoming more and more popular with Meadowhall visitors, so we wanted to make sure that children are getting the opportunity to explore the diversity of Japanese food by putting on free and educational cookery classes every weekday morning throughout half term.”
