UPDATE: Road remains closed as armed police respond to incident at South Yorkshire property

A South Yorkshire road remains closed, as specially-trained officers and armed police attempt to deal with an ongoing incident involving a resident at a nearby property.

Armed police are currently in attendance at an ongoing incident on a South Yorkshire street.

Police were called out to property on Wensleydale Road, Scawsby in Doncaster at around 3.30pm this afternoon after concerns were raised for a resident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Armed police and specialist officers are currently at the property and Wensleydale Road, Doncaster remains closed at this time.”

Reports coming in on social media suggest the resident involved in the incident may have been armed, but this has not been confirmed. 

Residents have also said that they have seen an ambulance on the scene. 

Yorkshire Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
