Update for flood victims

VICTIMS of June's floods in South Yorkshire can discover what help is available at a meeting tonight.

The meeting at Dinnington Primary School on Doe Quarry Lane between 7pm-8pm is a follow-up to a previous public meeting about the floods.

Officials from the council and other agencies, such as the police and fire and rescue service, will be available to answer questions about the floods and the emergency response .

Council leader Roger Stone said: “By holding this second meeting at Dinnington we are honouring a commitment we gave to return to the communities to let them know what’s been happening and what progress has been made on the questions they posed at the meeting back in July.”

Follow-up meetings have been held in Catcliffe and Whiston. Another is planned for the Thorpe Hesley area.
