UPDATE: Doncaster man fighting for his life after allegedly taking ecstasy pill on night out

The pills found on the man who had a heart attack in a Doncaster nightclub

Detectives have issued a picture of the brightly-coloured tablets, believed to have been taken by the man during a night out in Doncaster on Friday.

The pills in the photograph were found on the man and witnesses said he may have taken something inside the nightclub earlier that evening.

Another man, also believed to have taken the same drugs, fell ill with chest pains on the same night.

Both men had attended the Warehouse nightclub on North Bridge Road in Doncaster.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The man in hospital is in a critical life threatening condition and we are continuing to make enquires.

“We had a big response from the public, the appeal has been shared over 4,000 times and we would like to thank people for there help.

“We have had no further reports of other people been taken ill.”

The 29-year-old had a heart attack inside the club in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At 5.40am on Saturday, officers on patrol were flagged down to help a 32-year-old man who was having chest pains.

He had also been at the Warehouse nightclub on Friday night, and also reported having taken tablets similar to the ones in the photo.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Detective Sergeant Andy Knowles, from South Yorkshire Police, said police needed information to ensure the pills were ‘taken out of circulation’ before anyone else was harmed.

He said: “We believe these tablets may be some form of ecstasy, but this has not yet been confirmed.

“They may well be homemade, and could be extremely harmful. I want to warn anyone who bought pills similar to these not to take them, and also advise anyone who has taken them to seek medical assistance.”

Stuart Walker, manager of Warehouse night club, said he did not want to comment while the police investigation was still ongoing.
