University is not the only way

Have your say

thousands of potential students will be considering whether university is right for them. With all the talk of higher education versus vocational courses one vital element is often missing. Vocational courses are not limited to the likes of carpentry, plumbing and other skilled manual trades.

These are of course vital, but it’s important to remember that other bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants offer courses to those looking for a career in finance but do not relish the idea of university debt. Professional qualifications also enable you to earn a wage and get valuable experience while studying.

There are other options available to them to gain entry to a professional career.
