Tyre blaze sends smoke billowing across South Yorkshire town

Firefighters dealt with a pile of tyres which were ablaze in South Yorkshire.

Crews were called to land just off Centenary Way, Rotherham at around 8pm on Saturday.

A spokesman at Rotherham fire station said the tyres had been flytipped near the River Rother and the blaze caused a lot of smoke to billow across the town centre.
