Two South Yorkshire shops ram raided within the space of 20 minutes

Thieves drove a car into two shops within the space of 20 minutes of each other during linked ram raids across South Yorkshire last night.

In the first incident, two men drove a silver Ford Fiesta into the front of the shop at Edlington Service Station, Edlington Lane, Edlington at around 12.50am on Wednesday.

The two men then entered the shop before returning to the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Then at around 1.10am a shop on Park Lane, Thrybergh, Rotherham, was also burgled in similar circumstances.

Detectives said the incidents were linked and enquiries were underway into both incidents.

The silver Ford Fiesta was later found burned out in the Thrybergh area.
