From next year, all schools will be measured that way.

And according to new league tables published by the Department for Education, two of these under-performing schools are in North Derbyshire.

Heritage High School, on Boughton Lane, Clowne, failed to meet the benchmarks, as only 32 per cent of pupils managed to get the set grades.

Shirebrook Academy, on Common Lane, Shirebrook, had 29 per cent of its pupils reaching these grades.
