Vandals threw a breeze block at the windscreen of one vehicle and bricks and bottles at another.

The incidents were reported by the Sheffield East Local Policing Team, which covers areas including Manor, Darnall and Attercliffe, last night.

A member of the team, posting details of the incidents on Twitter, described the culprits as 'thugs'.

Last week vandals threw a brick at a police car patrolling Nether Edge, Sheffield.

They struck at 5.45pm last Wednesday as the car was driving along Empire Road.
