Special educational needs unit Heatherwood School on Leger Way and Ridgewood School at Scawsby have both notified parents of positive cases within the last few days.

Bridget Coy, head of Heatherwood, said: “We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and working closely with Public Health England.

"The small number of children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.

"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well.”

Meanwhile, Ridgewood School has reported a further Covid-19 case within its Year 12 bubble.

However, because the pupil concerned has already been off school since the end of September, there is no impact on other students and the school remains open.
