Two more charged over armed robbery at Rotherham bank

Two more men have been charged over a bank robbery in Rotherham in which staff were threatened with guns.

Paul Smith, aged 54, of The Coppice, Kimberworth Park, and Jason Hepponstall, 27, from Kimberworth Park, were both charged with robbery last night over a raid at a branch of Yorkshire Bank in Broad Street, Parkgate, in January

Smith has also been charged with an additional offence of robbery, attempted robbery, firearms and driving offences.

A third man, Michael Lydon, 52, from Cleethorpes, was charged over the Rotherham bank raid on Wednesday, March 2.

He appeared at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court earlier this month and has been remanded into custody until Thursday March 31, when he will appear at Sheffield Crown Court.
