Two die at blackspot

TWO people were killed and a third man was injured when a car left the road and collided with a tree on a notorious road near Worksop on Tuesday night.

A 32-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from the Worksop area, died at the scene of the collision on Limetree Avenue, within Clumber Park.

A third person, a 24-year-old man also from the Worksop area, was taken to Bassetlaw Hospital.

Police have not yet released the names of the victims.

The fatal crash comes just four months after Doncaster dad Paul Baker, 34, was killed in a similar incident.

Limetree Avenue, which cuts through the National Trust owned park, is a notorious accident blackspot.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the latest incident.
