Two charged over alleged fight at town centre bus stop

Two men have been charged with public order offences following an alleged altercation at a bus stop in Chesterfield.

Police were called at around 3.10pm on Monday, January 18 following reports of two men fighting at a bus stop along Beetwell Street in the town centre.

Zaccary Sedgwick, 22 of Springvale Close, Danesmore, is set to appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Tuesday, March 8. Mark Elson, 28, of no fixed address, was also charged and has been remanded in police custody.

Sergeant Dave Nicholls is from the Chesterfield Town Centre Safer Neighbourhood Team.

He said: “We have recently had issues at bus stops in the town and I would like to remind the public that these incidents will not be tolerated in our community.”
