Trust is shortlisted for national award

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust, which runs hospitals in Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Goole, has been shortlisted for a patient experience award.

The Trust was a finalist at the national Patient Experience Network Awards 2017 this month, where the two-strong patient experience team was up for the ‘Team of the Year’ category.

Among their achievements are setting up a patient panel, which allows for members of the public to have a say on service developments, looking at ways to increase the response rates to the Friends and Family Test survey, and capturing patient stories.

Jo Loughborough, patient experience practitioner, said: “We may be a very small team but we have taken great strides to implement initiatives to collect and act on patient experience.

“We capture patient stories on film, audio and in written format and use them to highlight and celebrate success and make improvements to services.

“We work closely with wards and departments to help them learn from their patient’s feedback and help them implement changes based on feedback.

“Unfortunately we didn’t win the award, but we were so honoured to be shortlisted and recognised for the strides we are taking in this area.”
