A SEA of flowers has been left on a Rotherham golf course where a young golfer was found hanged this week.
The body of Danny Cavill, aged 21, of Brinsworth, was discovered at Sitwell Park Golf Club, where he worked as a greenkeeper, in the early hours of Saturday.
Among the tributes is a card left by Danny’s heartbroken parents Steve and Sue and his grieving brother Craig and sisters Rachel and Stacey, which says their world has “fallen apart”.
It reads: “Our gorgeous, lovely, larger than life Danny.
“What are we going to do without you - your smile, your sense of humour - everything about you.
“You are going to be missed more than words can say sweetheart.
“Our world has fallen apart. Wherever you are my lovely we hope you are at peace.”
Another tribute from a grieving friend was written on a T-shirt.
It says “You once told me ‘life’s one big party’.
“It’s just a shame you had to leave early this time.”
A Facebook site has also been set up in Danny’s memory where friends have paid tribute to the tragic young man.
His pal Josh Hill has written: “We’ve had some unbelievable times and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as I have when I’ve been with you.
“When something got me and you laughing we’d get to the point where we couldn’t physically stand up any more and my ribs would be killing me.
“We had so much more to do mate. I’m going to miss you so much but I’m going to remember the good times and wherever I go you will always be there with me. Best mates forever.”
Grace Fretwell said: “You were amazing and could cheer anybody up no matter what the situation.”
Paul Hollis said: “You were one kid who everyone loved. You’re a true friend and will always be one of the lads.”
Danny’s funeral service is to be held at Rotherham Crematorium, East Herringthorpe, on Thursday, May 19, at 4pm.
