Treasure hunt at Wentworth

Wentworth Castle Gardens is hosting treasure hunts this weekend – and a bag of chocolate will be given to all successful bounty hunters.

At the beginning of the 18th century lord of the manor Thomas Wentworth was a keen supporter of maritime adventures, and this led him to fear for the safety of his vast wealth.

Not to be caught out, he created a special map with a secret code to guard his fortune. Now all the family will be able to join in the fun and break Thomas Wentwort’'s code using his treasure map.

The treasure hunts run from 10am to 5pm, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.
