Warning issued to motorists with Storm Dennis set to lash the UK

Motorists have been urged to take caution this weekend as Storm Dennis gets ready to lash the UK with fierce winds and heavy rain.

Highways England has advised drivers to check the latest forecast and road conditions before heading out this Saturday, February 15, or Sunday, February 16.

Yellow weather warnings are in place across the region from 8am on the Saturday until 9pm the following evening, with more severe amber alerts issued for some parts of the country.

Highways England said in a statement: “Road users are advised to take care when travelling, allowing plenty of time to complete your journey and consider whether your journey is necessary before setting out.”
