Two lanes of M1 reopened after heavy delays caused by car crash near Sheffield

Two lanes on the M1 are now open after they were closed following a road traffic collision.

Traffic is now moving freely on the M1 having been at a standstill this afternoon (December 4).

Lanes two and three were closed on the southbound side between J37 at Dodworth and J36 at Tankersley.

Highways England estimated delays of up to 30 minutes on top of normal journey times.

Queues were as long as four miles as a result of the closed lanes.
