Two lanes closed in M1 crash between Sheffield and Rotherham

Traffic is building on the M1 between Sheffield and Rotherham after two lanes were closed due to a crash.

It happened on the M1 northbound between J33 (Rotherham) and J34 (Sheffield/Rotherham) just after 5pm this afternoon (Tuesday, September 1).

Two of four lanes are closed while the emergency services deal with the incident.

Highways England said normal traffic conditions were expected to resume between 7.45pm and 8pm this evening.

The nature of the crash or the extent of any injuries is not yet known.
