Tram trains between Sheffield and Rotherham may resume today

Tram trains between Sheffield and Rotherham resume today after being withdrawn from service last weekend.

Stagecoach Supertram was asked by tram train manufacturer Stadler to withdraw the fleet on Sunday.

No explanation was provided but the company said today that it hopes to resume services this afternoon.

Until then, tram train tickets are being accepted on Northern Rail trains between Meadowall and Rotherham Central, and Stagecoach Bus services 8, 8a, 9, 22x, 218, 22a, 221 and 22a.
