The Sheffield Youth Strike for Climate is due to take place in the city centre, where demonstrators will gather at Devonshire Green for 11am, ahead of a march and a rally.

Travel South Yorkshire says ‘minor delays’ are expected in the area between 11am and 1pm.

No official closures of diversions will be in place, with police managing traffic on the day.

The march is expected to leave from Devonshire Green at around 11.30am, according to Travel South Yorkshire, moving down Fitzwilliam Street to Moorfoot, then up the pedestrianised Moor, before heading along Pinstone Street to Sheffield Town Hall.

The following roads are expected to be affected:

Fitzwilliam Street

Fitzwilliam Gate

Furnival Gate

Pinstone Street

Leopold Street.
