Motorists using the Snake Pass and Woodhead Pass are reporting heavy snowfall.

The roads were both open at 7.45am today, but the conditions were said to be treacherous.

Snow showers are expected across the region throughout today.

Strong gusts of wind are also causing issues on the roads today, with a 40mph speed limit in place on the Tinsley Viaduct.
