The A57 Snake Pass is closed between Hurst Road, Glossop (Royal Oak) and the A6013, Bamford (Ladybower Reservoir) due to the hazardous conditions, according to the latest update at 8.00am this morning (February 27).

A spokesperson for the Derbyshire County Council said that the roads were closed “due to heavy snow making the routes impassable.”

“Please drive with care as we continue to see some heavy snow showers particularly in the north of the county.”

It is not known when the roads will reopen and drivers are advised to avoid the roads unless absolutely necessary.

A yellow weather warning for now and ice is currently in place for much of the Peak District.
