An average speed of around 5mph has been reported on the southbound motorway near Aston.
Meanwhile, queues are also building heading into the city at the roundabout close to Gulthwaite, as well as delays at on the A630 near Catcliffe.
It comes after last week’s general train strike has come to an end, however Transpennine Express is reporting difficulties across its network due to a shortage of staff today (June 27).
