Sheffield snow: Buses diverted and traffic building as police issue travel warning

Snow is causing some travel disruption in Sheffield this morning with some buses affected and cars struggling due to road conditions.

Among the bus services affected this morning are First South Yorkshire’s 83 and 83B, which are missing out Greystones.

The 120 service towards Fulwood will be terminating at Ranmoor.

Its 51 service will terminate at Crosspool shops due to snow on the road at Lodge Moor.

In Rotherham, First’s 114 service buses are unable to serve Dale Road, Herringthorpe, due to snow on the hill

Buses will be using Dove Dale Road until further notice.

Stagecoach Yorkshire said its services are all running as normal so far but regular updates will be provided as the day progresses and weather worsens.

Sheffield Council’s gritters are out this morning.

Its Streets Ahead team said: “Our gritters are out treating Sheffield priority routes.

“Please only travel if it’s absolutely essential today.”
