As heavy snow showers swept Sheffield this morning it will be staying cold with further blustery, wintry showers.

Today will be windy through the morning with further blustery, wintry showers. These will ease through the afternoon with more sunshine developing and decreasing winds. It will remain cold and a thaw of lying snow over the Pennines will be slow. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

There will be cold start to the evening before soon clouding over with rain and hill snow arriving around midnight. Some heavy bursts with moderate accumulations likely over hills. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
