The westbound carriageway of the same section of the A630 Parkway will also be closed from 8pm on Saturday April 17 until 6am on Sunday April 18, with the same diversions in place.

Paul Woodcock, Rotherham Council’s strategic director for regeneration and environment, said: “It is essential that maintenance continues while the improvement works are underway, to ensure roads users are safe. Usually only a single lane of the carriageway would be closed to allow access for litter picking, lighting repairs and other routine work. Given this section of the A630 between Catcliffe and the M1 is already operating with narrow lanes while construction takes place, it is necessary to close both lanes to keep road users and maintenance crews safe.

“We thank residents, road users and local businesses for their patience while this work takes place.”
