Motorcyclist seriously hurt after colliding with car in Barnsley

A motorcyclist is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Barnsley last night.

A 25-year-old man was seriously injured after his blue Suzuki 125 motorbike collided with a Citreon C3 on Royston Lane in Barnsley at around 11.35pm.

The blue Citreon was being driven by a 19-year-old man on Royston Lane, while the motorcyclist was travelling on Church Street along with a blue Extreme 125.

The car and Suzuki crashed at the junction with Carlton Road.

The rider was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said his condition is believed to be stable but critical.

The 19-year-old man driving the Citroen and the 19-year-old man on the Extreme were not injured.
