More buses are now running again on many Sheffield routes - here are all the latest changes

A vastly reduced timetable remains in place across the city, with people advised only to use public transport if essential, but the service has been stepped back up from hourly to half-hourly on numerous routes from Sunday, May 10.

Travel South Yorkshire said a reduced, hourly or Sunday service was still operating on most routes, but some services had been increased ‘to protect shift work and key worker journeys’.

In his address to the nation yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson advised people to ‘avoid public transport if at all possible’ because operators would be taking steps to maintain social distancing, meaning capacity would be limited.

He urged people to walk, cycle or drive to work if possible, though he said public transport operators would be ‘following COVID-secure standards’.

From Sat 28 March a special hourly timetable will be in operation.

Updated - From Sunday 10 May the Monday to Friday daytime service will operate every 30 minutes. The weekend service will operate hourly.

Chapeltown – Sheffield – Herdings

From Sat 28 March a special hourly timetable will be in operation between City Centre and Herdings.

Updated – From Sunday 10 May the Monday to Friday daytime service will operate every 30 minutes. The weekend service will operate hourly between Sheffield City Centre and Herdings only.

Ecclesfield – Sheffield – Hemsworth

From Sat 28 March a special hourly timetable will be in operation.

The 6.45pm Charnock to Lodge Moor service has been amended and arrives at 7.28pm

The 7.45pm Lodge Moor to Olive Grove Depot service now departs at 7.35pm and has been extended to Charnock.

Loxley – Hillsborough – Crookes – Sheffield – Woodhouse

From Sat 28 March a special hourly timetable will be in operation with all journeys to Wisewood (not Loxley)

From Mon 20 April service new journeys added at 0545 from both Woodhouse and Wisewood to assist key worker travel.

From Sat 28 March a special hourly timetable will be in operation between Fulwood and Crystal Peaks.

From Mon 4 May changes will be made to Monday to Friday morning peak journeys with some journeys starting at Halfway Tram terminus to provide some additional journeys for key workers whilst the tram is suspended for engineering work.

From Sat 28 March a special timetable will be in operation between Hillsborough and Grenoside only on service 135

SL1 Stagecoach Yorkshire

Middlewood – Stocksbridge (SupertramLink)

From Monday 4 May Service X5 Monday to Friday journeys will be extended from Sheffield to Broomhill to ease capacity on service 52.

Updated - From Sunday 10 May the Monday to Friday service will operate every 30 minutes. One journey per hour will go via Todwick. The weekend service will operate hourly. The 5.23am journey will have a duplicate journey provided.

X10 First

Sheffield – Rotherham – Maltby

From Sat 28 March this service will no longer run - see service X1 and Powells service 3 for alternatives.

Updated - From Sunday 10 May the Monday to Friday daytime service will operate hourly, combined with service X10 every 30 minutes. No weekend services.

X78 First

Sheffield – Meadowhall – Rotherham – Doncaster

From Sat 28 March a special hourly timetable will be in operation

From Sun 19 April the 1955 journey from Sheffield to Rotherham is extended to Doncaster.

From Mon 27 April following NHS staff feedback the 1955 journey from Sheffield Interchange will leave later at 2015 7 days a week to allow connections from the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and to also connect at Meadowhall with the last service 95 journey from Northern General Hospital.
