A four-vehicle crash led to the closure of the M1 in Sheffield.

The motorway had to be closed between junctions 33 and 32 after the collision on Friday evening, as police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene.

Miraculously, only minor injuries were sustained, despite the shocking extent of the wreckage being revealed in photos which were shared by police.

Police initially said that one motorist had been reported for driving without due care and attention but have since said this was incorrect and nobody was reported.
