Five vehicle crash causes police to close major Sheffield road

A major Sheffield Road was closed this afternoon while police dealt with a collision which involved five vehicles.

The cars collided at the junction of City Road and Granville Road, on the northbound side outside Thoroughgoods convenience store.

Police were called at 3.12pm to reports of the incident and remain at the scene.

The cars involved were moved off the carriageway and the road was reopened shortly after 4.30pm today (September 18).

During the police investigation cars were being diverted up Manor Laithe Road towards Skye Edge.
