Disruption warning as Doncaster-Sheffield railway line closed all this weekend

Rail passengers in South Yorkshire are being warned of disruption this weekend with the closure of the Doncaster-Sheffield line.

The track will be shut on Saturday and Sunday, with engineering work between Conisbrough and Swinton meaning that passengers will face disruption.

Services affected will include:

CrossCountry between Newcastle and Birmingham New Street / Reading / Southampton Central

East Midlands Railway between York and London St Pancras International

Northern between Adwick / Goole / Hull and Sheffield

TransPennine Express between Cleethorpes and Manchester Airport

CrossCountry trains will be diverted between York and Sheffield and will not call at Doncaster.

Replacement buses will run between Doncaster and Sheffield.

East Midlands Railway trains will run between Sheffield and London St Pancras International.

Customers travelling between York and Sheffield via Doncaster, should other train operators trains between York and Doncaster and replacement buses between Doncaster and Sheffield.

Northern

Buses will replace trains between Doncaster and Swinton.

TransPennine Express

Buses will replace trains between Doncaster and Sheffield but will not call at Meadowhall.

Customers should change at Sheffield and use alternative services between Sheffield and Meadowhall.

Passengers should check all services before travelling.
