The collision on the A616 near Midhopestones was reported to emergency services earlier this morning and the road is partially blocked.
Traffic is building in both directions, with motorists heading towards the Woodhead Pass worst affected during the morning rush hour.
There are no reports of any injuries from the scene yet.
