A busy Sheffield road has been closed until further notice for emergency repairs to a burst water pipe.

Diversions have been put in place after Stannington road at Malin Bridge was closed at 7pm on Friday (29 May).

Travel South Yorkshire said the emergency work is being completed by Morrison Utilities, who have said they do not know how long it will take.

Several bus routes will be affected, including services 61, 62, 81 and 82.

A Travel South Yorkshire spokesperson said: “Buses on service 61 (From Bradfield towards Hillsborough) and on service 62 (from Hillsborough towards Bradfield) will need to divert between Malin Bridge and Damflask by running along Loxley Road, Damflask End and New Road and will not be able to serve Stannington or Dungworth.

“Buses on services 81 and 82 will run between Dore or Millhouses, Sheffield and Malin Bridge but will not be able to serve Stannington.”
