Bus gets stuck on major Sheffield road as heavy snow and ice causes travel CHAOS

Rush-hour motorists are facing long delays getting into the city this morning, as a bus is currently stuck on Sandygate Road.

The incident is causing tailbacks along Manchester Road, as motorists battle to get to work in snowy conditions.

A Stagecoach Yorkshire spokesman said: “Due to an RTC on Manchester rd Stocksbridge, all Sl1a will be operating as an SL1 and diverting via Nanny Hill, Lee Avenue, Armatage Road, Wood Royd Road and Carr Road.

“Sorry for any inconvenience”.

The incident happened at around 8.40am,

Other services in Sheffield are also facing disruption due to the weather.

Service 51 will terminate at Crosspool, services 81 and 82 will divert along Stannington road, and the 120 will terminate at Ranmoor.

At Crookes, 52 services will be terminating at Broomhill, and the 25 service will be diverted along Nodder Road instead of Chadwick.

Traffic is at a complete standstill on Northfield Road, Crookes.
