Burst water main causing traffic disruption in Sheffield

A burst water main is causing travel disruption for rush hour commuters this morning (February 4).

The area around Queens Road and Charlotte Road on the A61 near to the city centre is still under water this morning after the burst which sent thousands of gallons of water pouring onto the carriageway.

The incident happened yesterday evening, causing travel misery for commuters.

Yorkshire Water officials are carrying out out emergency repairs at the scene.

Bus services are being diverted around the area this morning, with services unable to call at all stops.

First tweeted that service one will not be serving olive grove, and will be diverting via queens road, duchess road, and east bank road in both directions – meaning East Road and Heeley Bank Road cannot be served.

Stagecoach services 11, 51 and 41 are also diverted via East bank road, Duchess road, Queens road.
