A major route into Sheffield has been closed this evening due to a crash.

Derbyshire Police have this evening warned people to avoid the stretch of the A57 between Ladybower Reservoir and Sheffield because of the collision.

Officers have put out a warning to motorists after the incident, which was reported earlier this evening.

They said: “The A57 is currently closed from Ladybower towards #Sheffield due to a collision near to the junction with Mortimer Road.

“Please avoid the area and find an alternative route.
