Transport company in drive to be more ‘green’

Have your say

STAGECOACH Yorkshire is driving forward its environmental awareness raising work with the launch of its third ‘Green Week’.

The transport operator will spend next week demonstrating to staff and customers the green measures the company is taking in its bid to help protect the environment.

It will also use the time to highlight the environmental - and financial - benefits of using public convert drivers.

Eco-friendly giveaways will be available in Barnsley town centre on Wednesday, May 25, and Sheffield city centre on Thursday, May 26.

Managing director Paul Lynch said: “We’re proud of the steps we have taken so far to become a more sustainable business.

“Being a greener company is at the heart of what we do - and we have a number of exciting and innovative plans in place to build on our progress so far.

“Green Week is also important in helping make it easier for our staff and customers to make simple changes in their everyday lives to reduce their impact on our planet.

“As motorists face rising costs, it’s a good chance for us to remind people of the time and money savings that can be made by using greener, smarter public transport.”
