The yellow route between Meadowhall and the city centre was suspended on Friday for four days of works to be carried out, with the route originally scheduled to re-open tomorrow.

But Stagecoach announced that the works have finished ahead of schedule and trams on all routes are running as normal from today.

Replacement bus services ran over the weekend.

The cancellations were due to track replacement work taking place near Attercliffe tram stop and upgrade work to connect the Supertram and Network Rail overhead power lines for upcoming Tram Train services to Rotherham.

A Stagecoach spokesman said: "A full, normal tram service is running on all routes. This is due to engineering works finishing ahead of schedule."
