Trains cancelled after lorry hits railway bridge in Rotherham

Trains calling at Rotherham Central have been cancelled on safety grounds this afternoon after a lorry hit a railway bridge.

Train company Northern said a block has been put on the lines serving the railway station until engineers examine the railway bridge in Aldwarke Road.

Transport has been arranged between Rotherham Central and Meadowhall in both directions until train services resume.
