The stakes are high as qualified greyhounds take to the track at Owlerton Stadium today, in a bid to bag a £10,000 prize.
The annual Pinpoint Recruitment Three Steps to Victory event is widely-regarded as one of the most challenging races in the greyhound calendar. To qualify for the highi profile 660m final, which is live on Sky Sports, greyhounds must have progressed through the 480m heats and 500m semi-final, both staged at Owlerton last month.
Owlerton Stadium-based trainer John Sharp has himself qualified two greyhounds, Catrigg Croft and Clonkeen Snowy, and will be flying the flag for Sheffield in the final. John will be bidding to win the prestigious three-stage event on his home track for the second time, after scooping the top prize in 2012 with Clerhian Gold.
