THERE were delays on the Sheffield Parkway yesterday after a lorry went up in flames near to the exit for Catcliffe.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 6.45pm yesterday morning and sped to the scene.
The cause of the fire was logged as accidental.
Meanwhile a stretch of the M1 northbound was closed yesterday lunchtime because of a jack-knifed lorry.
The incident happened between Junctions 34 and 35 - Tinsley and Chapeltown.
Police officers and Highways officers dealt with the incident, which was reported at around midday.
In a separate incident a Renault Megane Scenic found burning on the Dearne Valley Parkway, at Darfield, Barnsley, had been deliberately set alight.
Firefighters dealt with the blaze.
