Video: Drivers brave deep water as notorious Upwell Street in Sheffield floods again
Heavy rain after weeks of record breaking dry weather led to localised flooding in Sheffield today
Dramatic downpours flooded a Sheffield road and left drivers facing a deep ford earlier today.
Motorists were seen braving the waters at Upwell Street in Brightside, which dips under a railway bridge and is known for flooding after rain.

Dramatic footage shows cars nosing through the pool, with bow waves up to bonnets.

One car is seen to do a U-turn when the driver decides not to risk it.
Upwell Street claimed several cars in October 2023 during Storm Babet.
Firefighters and Amey workers were pictured wading in to rescue drivers during that storm. And one Good Samaritan, known only as Nadia, used her 4x4 to tow a car out and deliver the driver to her home in Grimesthorpe.
