Traffic chaos as police close part of dual carriageway in Rotherham with truck seen getting towed away

A dual carriageway in Rotherham is currently blocked by police.

Car Road, which connects the Greasbrough village of Rotherham to Parkgate Shopping Park, is blocked off by police this afternoon (October 2).

It is understood that traffic heading down the hill - towards the roundabout connecting with Greasbrough Road and Mangham Road - is being diverted, while motorists are still able to travel towards Greasbrough.

Pictures from the scene show what appears to be a large dump truck being town away.

Meanwhile police cars block the road and have taped off entry.

South Yorkshire Police have been approached for comment.
