For those hoping to get around Sheffield during the Christmas period, it is important to know about the changes to the public transport timetables.

These are the bus, tram and tram train services that will be operating on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Christmas Eve

Saturday service with last departures between 1730 and 1930 with the following exceptions:

Arriva - Monday to Friday service with an early finish.

Isle Coaches - Monday to Friday service.

Globe Coaches - Monday to Friday service.

Kettlewells - Monday to Friday service.

Powells Bus - Monday to Friday service with an early finish.

TM Travel - Monday to Friday service with an early finish.

Stagecoach - Operating services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.

Hulleys of Baslow and Sheffield Community Transport - Normal Monday to Friday service

Tram and Tram Train

Tram: Saturday service with last departures between 1800 and 1900

Tram Train: Saturday service with last departures between 1800 and 1900 for Sheffield and 1900 and 2000 for Rotherham.

Christmas Day

No services except for Stagecoach in Barnsley and Rotherham operating bus services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.

Boxing Day

Buses in Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham

No services with the exception of Stagecoach in Barnsley and Rotherham operating bus services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.

First - services X1, X5 and X55 will operate a special Boxing Day service with latest departures between 1600 and 1800.

Buses in Sheffield

Some services will operate between 0700 and 1900 in Sheffield only. These services will be operated by First, Stagecoach and TM Travel. Funding has been provided for these special bus services by Buses for Sheffield.

Tram

Services will operate to a special timetable which starts from around 0600. Last departures from around 2100.

Festive Special Blue Route (Halfway - Meadowhall via Cathedral) plus Yellow Route (Meadowhall -Middlewood).

There will be no service on the Purple Route.

There will be no tram train services on Boxing Day.

Saturday services will be in operation between Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve with the exception of the Sunday, when the normal Sunday service will be on.

New Year’s Eve

Bus

Saturday service with last departures between 1730 and 1930.

The following exceptions apply:

Isle Coaches and Kettlewells - Monday to Friday service.

Powells Bus - Monday to Friday service with the exception of Service 5 which will operate as a normal Tuesday service.

TM Travel - Monday to Friday service with last departures between 1730 and 1830.

Sheffield Community Transport - Normal Tuesday service.

Tram

Saturday service with last departures between 1800 and 1900

Tram Train

Saturday service with last departures between 1900 and 2000

New Year’s Day

Buses in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham

No services, except for Stagecoach operating bus services to and from XPO Logistics for shift times.

Buses in Sheffield

Some Sheffield services will run between 0800 and 1800 operated by First.

Funding has been provided for these special bus services by Sheffield City Council. Normal fares, concessions and any relevant restrictions apply.

Tram and Tram Train
