The 13 roads in Sheffield with most parking tickets, as drivers are fined more than £2m

More than £2 million worth of parking fines were handed out to drivers by Sheffield City Council last year, the latest figures show.

The Star has analysed the data to reveal the roads in the city where you’re most likely to get a parking fine.

Most are found within the city centre, and some have council car parks located on them, but a couple of major roads outside the city centre make the list, and two roads near the Royal Hallamshire Hospital are also included.

In total, during the 12 months ending in March 2024, Sheffield City Council issued 61,712 penalty charge notices (PCNs) for parking offences, 3,263 of which were cancelled.

Those fines between them generated £2,020,605.43 in revenue, which is slightly less than the £2,182,697.32 received in payments during the 2022/23 financial year.

Any surplus income from running parking services must be spent in one of the following ways: provision and maintenance of off-street parking; funding public transport; highway and road improvements and maintenance; reducing environmental pollution; improvement and maintenance of public open space.

Below are the 13 streets across Sheffield on which the most money was generated from parking fines issued by the council during the year ending in March 2024.
